Get ready to be your own Badass Booking agent!
“I would recommend this course for any musician, artist, or entertainer looking to ‘go their own way’ and book independent gigs. We’re not taught about any of this in school, and so many of us are sorely lacking in business sense. Gilad is great at making everyone comfortable, keeping it light, and encouraging people to be honest about the things they don’t know yet.” ~Jody Mullen, cabaret and jazz singer, classical soprano

In this course I am excited to give you the tried-and-true tools you need to make a DIY performing career!
Through this high-touch program, full of valuable information, you’ll dive deep into what it takes to be your own agent, get useful and practical tools to create the artistic life you want, and be able to take control of your performing career.
All while being a part of an encouraging, non-judgmental, and community-oriented environment.
- Feel more confident with the way you present yourself to clients and industry decision makers.
- Stand up for your worth (that means $$$) and values as an artist.
- No longer need to rely on others to reach out to you and offer you work.
- Go out there and pitch your offers to clients and presenters directly!
I’ve been my own agent for over 15 years.
Often, this means coming up with ideas that help me sell my performing services. These offerings range from solo work to playing with full bands, themed shows to orchestral concerts, and many other iterations.
On my journey, I am continuously creating new acts, diversifying my musical offerings, moving between genres, finding new ways to combine my musical backgrounds with my personal and artistic strengths, and truly connecting to the aspects that make me marketable. You can do the same!
Through learning to be your own agent, you’ll acquire important skills like:
- Delivering an elevator pitch to start conversations with potential collaborators and clients.
- Presenting yourself in an exciting way to individuals and industry decision makers.
- Pitching a show to agencies, orchestras, and other presenting organizations.
- Selling to audiences directly.
- Researching opportunities.
- Reaching out to the right presenters in the right way.
- Negotiating fees and terms.
- Handling contracts.
- Booking tours.
- Collecting payments.
- Communicating with presenters and tech people so you get rehired.
You’ll learn everything that an agent is supposed to do for their client, and you’ll be able to parlay these skills into a successful perfromance career.
I use these skills to book both myself and other artists, and some of my proudest booking achievements came from acting as my own agent and getting my classical crossover duo, VOCE NOVA, booked on America’s Got Talent, as well as booking 10 shows in one month for my band, TLV, just to mention a couple.
“As musicians we train deeply on our craft, but we don’t have the same tools that help us treat our careers as a business. Gilad’s approach to the music market and selling our services as musicians is unique, and it has encouraged me to start charging fees that I feel are fair when I take into account my time, expertise, and the investment I made in my performing career so far.” ~David Rivera Bozón, classical tenor, crossover singer, producer

I truly believe that “a rising tide raises all ships“.
When more musicians (and artists of all kinds) are able to act as their own agents confidently, and to advocate for themselves from a place of empowerment, this will eventually lead to a paradigm shift in the way clients view artists, and we will all be better off for it.
Through this program you will learn to put more value on the financial and time investment you’ve put into your music career so far, which will help you gain the confidence to demand the fees and terms that you deserve for your performances!
“The course covers “intangibles” that are not openly discussed and are never taught in an actionable manner. You may be initially put off by the title. Do not let that stop you! Gilad is available, approachable, and knowledgeable. He communicates exceptionally, and shares workable blueprints on how to operate successfully. The modules are setup clearly and logically. They encourage a diverse array of participants to work together, help each other, and to hone their business. Finally and most importantly, I am in a better place financially because opportunities I got and decisions I made with the information and tools provided by the course.“
~Jay O’Brien, multi-genre percussionist
Why I created this course:
- Because you don’t have to wait for someone else to “discover” you in order to start making waves and putting yourself out there.
- Because you can avoid making some of the mistakes I’ve made along the way.
- To help you gain the ability to create the most artistically-fulfilling performing career you can have!
“I have a lot of musician friends and colleagues, and it’s hard to find musicians who really own their value, go for what they want, and act as their own boss. It’s especially rare to find ones who would be willing to share so much information with other musicians the way Gilad does.”
~Ye-jin Han, violinist, performer, educator

“I really appreciated how many different kinds of details Gilad included in the steps and logistics, to support various scenarios in booking shows. I would recommend the course not only to musicians who are new to this kind of work and not sure where to begin, but also to those who have done this before and wish to fine-tune or redefine their vision/business model as an artist.”
