Gilad is very excited to be singing the leading role of Rabbi Azrael in this reading of scenes and arias from Joel Mandelbaum’s 1972 opera, based on the Ansky play about a Jewish exorcism. The idea for this reading has been brewing for the past 5 years, which was the latest collaboration between the composer and Mr. Paz, when the latter sang the two prayers from act IV of this opera.
The reading will be performed with a 45-piece orchestra, as well as a microtonal keyboard, and will feature a cast of excellent singers!
